NEW ENGINE/TRANS MOUNT INSERTS FOR VAG'S FORMIDABLE PQ34 PLATFORM

Debuted in 1996, VAG’s PQ34 platform provides the foundation for many of Europe’s most popular vehicles of the time including, Audi A3 Mk1 (8L) Audi TT Mk1 (8N) Volkswagen Golf Mk4 (1J) Volkswagen Bora/Jetta (1J) Volkswagen New Beetle (1C/1Y/9C) SEAT León Mk1 (1M) SEAT Toledo Mk2 (1M) Skoda Octavia Mk1 (1U) With the earliest vehicles reaching a quarter-century in age, but still much-loved by tuners, enthusiasts and car scenes across the globe, it’s no wonder that we’re still being asked for parts for them. The OE rubber engine/trans mounts soften and perish with age and usage, and in extreme cases can rupture and crack leading to failure. This can result in the following symptoms, Knocking noises Excessive engine movement Imprecise and notchy gear shifting Vague throttle response Wheel hop from standing starts This week, we are pleased to be able to provide an affordable and easy-to-fit solution to fill the voiding in your OE mount to revive your vehicle’s drivetrain. PFF85-440 Upper Engine Mount Insert

PFF85-441 Upper Gearbox Mount Insert

Reducing engine/trans movement by way of upgraded inserts has the following benefits: Sharper throttle response More accurate gear changes Reduced wheel-hop Improved Traction Prolonged mount life Available in 3 material variants, you can choose the insert that best suits your driving and vehicle requirements. PFF85-440 / PFF85-441 use our Yellow 70A durometer material, providing an excellent balance of strength and compliance for improved performance, whilst limiting NVH transmission into the cabin. This part is recommended for Petrol models and high-torque tuned Diesel models.

A small increase in NVH, usually at idle, should be expected when stiffening the connecting mount between the drivetrain and chassis. The harder the material used, the greater the NVH transmitted.
